Matthew 9:18 Upon His speaking these things to them, behold! One leader having come worshipped Him saying that “My daughter has just now died! But coming put Your hands upon her, and she shall live!” 19 And arising Yahshua followed him, and His students.

Luke describes the man as Jairus, the leader of a synagogue, at Luke 8:41. In Matthew the narrative is broken by the story of the woman who grabbed his garment, which is briefer in Matthew than in Luke's gospel where it appears in Chapter 8.
