By essentially all early attestations, John Mark was a student of Peter and in that Mark is in a way Peter's Gospel.

Mark himself, was likely not an eyewitness of Christ's ministry himself, though some acquaint him with the naked man in Gethesmane mentioned near the end of his gospel.
